Pick a tracking approach before you book
Live together: everyone plays at once, up to 6 people in the room. It feels like rehearsal but needs tight arrangements and cues. Overdub-first: capture basics (e.g. drums+bass) live, guitars and vocals later in the booth — easier on vocals and solos.
A full day (10 hours incl. setup) is €1,195 incl. VAT; hourly €165 incl. VAT; overdub-only €95 per hour. Send a rough demo and deadline via contact; we reply within 2 business days.
Setlist and tempo on paper
Build a list in recording order, not live show order. Start with the tightest song — it sets the pace. Note BPM per track (click or drum loop), intro length and breaks.
Give every musician a copy. Mark parts that will be replaced later (temp solo, placeholder vocal). If you plan to mix elsewhere, read delivering stems for mix early so track names stay consistent.
Instruments and amps
Drums: bring your snare and cymbals if you want a specific tone; kick and toms are on site. Tune the kit the night before, not on the clock. Guitars: fresh strings at least a day ahead; spare sets and picks in the bag.
Amps can live in the room; agree levels with the engineer before take one. We record DI in parallel for mix flexibility. Backline is limited — email [email protected] with your rider so we reserve what we have.
Roles and who needs to be there
Not everyone must stay all day with an overdub-first plan. Schedule vocals when the singer is fresh, not after four hours of loud drums. 6 players at once is a firm limit for acoustics and safety.
One person decides takes for the band. That avoids conflicting notes in the control room. Minimum age in the studio is 16; younger musicians only with a parent or guardian and prior agreement.
Sample timeline for a day session
Hours 1–2: drum setup, bass, click, per-song soundcheck. Hours 3–6: core live takes; engineer marks comp sections. Hours 7–8: overdubs in booth or iso. Hours 9–10: quick playback for go/no-go, list missing parts.
That outline is indicative — punk runs faster, progressive rock needs more check time. If you run over, book extra hours at the day rate or schedule a follow-up; free cancellation up to 7 days ahead under our terms.
De Pijp logistics
Peonscale is in De Pijp, about a 6-minute walk from De Pijp metro station (M52). Trams 1, 3 and 7 serve Ceintuurbaan; from the Stadhouderskade stop it is roughly a 4-minute walk. On-street parking is limited; public transport or cycling works best. Unload at the kerb; a bike or scooter is often faster than hunting parking. Agree who watches gear during breaks — we have limited locker space, no guarded car park.
Hours: Monday–Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 11:00–17:00, closed on Sunday. Make sure everyone has Van Ostadestraat 184, 1073 TS Amsterdam and 020 737 4826 for day-of delays.
Budget and payment
B2B clients pay within 14 days of invoice; consumers pay a 30 percent deposit when booking. Site prices include 21 percent VAT unless stated otherwise.
If you only need mastering after tracking, say so in the quote — we do not master on recording day unless booked ahead. See loudness for streaming masters for delivery expectations.
Bandleader checklist
- Demos and BPM shared at least 2 business days ahead
- Setlist order equals tracking order
- Spare strings, sticks, cables packed
- One decision-maker named
- Overdub plan for return visits
- Deposit and cancellation date noted
Vocals tracked the same week benefit from vocal warm-up advice — do not schedule singing right after an hour of loud guitars without a break.
